The Treasury, Wells Fargo Mortgage and Me
The continuing saga of saving my home.
For a year now I have been working with Wells Fargo Home preservation unit to lower my mortgage payments which would allow me to keep my home and not go into foreclosure. Finally in December of 2010 after being denied for not having enough income, I was approve. Here is how it works: The mortgage would be lowered to almost half of what I was paying on trial basis for 3 months when those qualifications had been met, a final contract would be signed. There may or may not be an adjustment on the payment amount and if I stay in good graces with the payments (on-time etc.) and so, for 3 years they would remove close to $17000.00 of the total mortgage ( this amount varies depending on your loan amount) each year bringing down the final amount I would be paying on the house to $68000.00 rather than $141.0000.
There is a formula on how they figure this out, way too complicated for me to enlightened you here. Suffice it to say I was jumping for joy.
Meantime, The state of Oregon developed a program to assist homeowners who were facing foreclosure
In February I made my first trial period payment, then again in March. On March 17th I received a call from Wells Fargo
